Attending school in Detroit, we always felt there was a strong sense of community that other cities often lacked. This got us thinking and we decided to research food access for local neighborhoods. After seeing how little access local residents had, we decided to create a community outreach program with a giveback incentive. The program was designed to help provide food to residents and donations could be made in the form of canned/pantry-safe goods or dollar amounts. Donors who contributed at least $5 worth would be rewarded with a giveback can stuffed with our branded swag and/or prizes and our tiered prizing system encouraged larger donations! It’s basically a glorified can drive, but way better looking!
